Welcome to Baldelli’s Modern Life XIV

Fellow Managers,

FANTASY BASEBALL IS BACK!

I’m excited to announce the return of Baldelli’s Modern Life XIV. This season, we will answer important questions like, who will spend $62 on Ronald Acuna Jr. or $700,000,000 on Shohei Ohtani (pitcher)? This season features a long requested rule tweaks. Plus, we blur the line between digital and real-world fantasy by awarding a trophy for a second year and offering SWAG. You should have already received your league invite email and can sign into your teams.

Now let’s turn to…

Business:

  • League dues: They are $205.
    • I have a record of those who won prize money but opted to use it for dues this year.
    • If there is any reason you want to play but need a little more time paying dues, message me privately, and I’ll grant an extension until the All-Star game.
  • SWAG: I will be ordering league SWAG this year, probably around the All-Star game.
    • It’ll likely be a custom league hat, baseball jersey, T-shirt, or hoodie.
    • It’s an optional purchase, and I don’t know the price, but I’d love to hear your thoughts. I like the idea of baseball hats.
  • Trophy: We will award The Commissioner’s Trophy again. For that reason, I added $5 to the league dues. Trophy image attached.

Important Dates:

  • Division Picks: I will contact division winners Pampered Birds and Bonerko for Konerko to set the date soon.
  • Keeper Deadline: Monday, March 18th. Email me your keepers and prices. I will confirm the prices (view keeper rules, view only keeper price sheet).
  • Draft Day: (Suggested) Sunday, March 24th at 5 PM PST, 8 PM EST.
    • Let me know ASAP if there is any reason you absolutely cannot make this date.
  • MLB Opening Day: March 28th.

Rule Changes:

  • No trade review. That means trades happen immediately (or as quickly as Yahoo allows) upon manager agreement. There is no one-day waiting period. The Commissioner’s Office retains the right to veto trades deemed colluding or in poor sportsmanship. As a reminder, yard-sale trades are permitted. This change was overwhelmingly requested by managers for many years.
  • Minimum IP Increased to 32: The minimum weekly innings total is increased to 32 for pitching stats to count. The previous number was 20.

Contact list:

  • Attached is the most up-to-date manager contact list. Please check your information and make sure that it is accurate.
  • It’s more fun when every manager can contact the others for trading.

Managers, good luck this year.
