Rules

Last updated 3/17/2025.

Yahoo league settings are considered league rules unless superseded on this page.

In addition to league rules, we have league precedents. Precedents are not rules, nor do they bind future rulings. They are guidelines established by past Commissioner decisions that inform future rulings to ensure that rules are applied consistently across seasons and changes in Commissioners.

1. Auction Draft

(A) Auction budget cannot be traded.

2. Keepers

(A) You may keep up to three players from a previous season. No number of keepers is required.

(B) The minimum salary for any kept player is $5. Undrafted players or players drafted for under $5 have a keeper value of $5.

(C) The base price of a keeper is their draft value from the previous season. If a drafted player is dropped or traded mid-season, the player’s keeper value remains their draft value, as does their number of years kept.

(D) After the first year that a player is kept, they must be given a $5 raise.

(E) A player cannot be kept for more than three consecutive years by any single manager or combination of managers including via trades.

(F) Managers may keep one rostered player, from any positional slot, listed as “NA” at the end of the previous season, for $1 instead of the keeper minimum of $5.

Drafted Keeper Price Example:

Coco Krisop is drafted for $15 by Team A. Team A drops Coco due to injury. Team B picks up Coco from the waver wire and stashes him until the end of the season. In the subsequent season Coco’s price is still his draft price of $15.

Keeper Raise Example:

  • Coco Krisp gets drafted for $4. If he is kept for the first time (1st year), his price is $5 because that’s the minimum. It is not $9 because no raise is required in his first year.
    • The second time (2nd year) Coco is kept, he must be paid $10 (last year’s keeper price + $5 raise).
    • The third time (3rd year) Coco is kept, he must be paid $15 (last year’s keeper price + $5 raise).
    • He cannot be kept after the third time.

3. Playoffs

(A) Playoffs are one week, winner advances. Losers move to the consolation bracket.

4. Drafting Divisions

(A) Division winners from the previous year pick divisions at least one week before the fantasy draft.

5. League Dues / Manager Standing

(A) Dues are $205. Of that, $200 goes towards prizes and $5 goes towards the trophy.

(B) If you choose to leave the league you must help look for a replacement manager.

6. Winner Payouts

(A) Payouts are as followed:

  • 1st – $800
  • 2nd – $400
  • 3rd – $200
  • Consolation winner – $100
  • Playoff birth – $100
  • Best Record – $300
  • Other Division Winner – $200
